Terms of Service

By using Sando, you agree to these terms. They are deliberately plain-language. If anything below conflicts with the Apple or Google billing terms you accepted when subscribing, the platform terms apply to billing only.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating a Sando account or using the Sando app, you accept these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't accept them, don't use Sando.

2. The service

Sando is a mobile application for fitness tracking, workout planning, body metrics, optional AI-assisted nutrition logging, and a friends-only social feed. The service is provided by Bamboo Digital inc., a Québec, Canada company.

3. Your account

4. Your content

You own the content you put into Sando: workouts, meals, notes, profile information, photos. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of operating the service (e.g. showing your workouts to friends you've shared them with, rendering your charts, running AI nutrition on meals you submit).

If you delete your content or your account, that license ends, subject to backup retention windows described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Pro subscriptions

Sando Pro is an optional subscription. As of the date above, prices are:

Local currency conversion, taxes, and platform-imposed prices are managed by Apple or Google. The price you see in the App Store or Google Play at purchase is the price you pay.

Auto-renewal. Pro subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Renewal is charged through your Apple ID or Google Play account.

7. Free trial

New Pro subscribers may be eligible for a 4-week free trial. The trial converts to a paid subscription automatically at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before then. We may also offer promotional trials at our discretion; their terms are shown at the time of the offer.

8. Cancellation & refunds

You can cancel Pro at any time:

Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their refund policies. We don't process refunds directly.

9. Our intellectual property

The Sando name, logo, design, code, exercise database, copy, and visuals are owned by Bamboo Digital inc. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them. Limited license: you may use Sando on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use.

10. Health & fitness disclaimer

Sando is not medical advice. The app's workout recommendations, deload triggers, RPE-based progression, and nutrition targets are general guidance based on your inputs. They are not a substitute for advice from a physician, registered dietitian, or certified coach. Consult a qualified professional before starting any new fitness or nutrition program, especially if you have a medical condition, are injured, are pregnant, or are under 18.

You use the app at your own risk. Sando is not liable for injuries or health outcomes arising from your training or nutrition choices.

11. AI nutrition disclaimer

The AI nutrition feature uses machine-learning models that estimate calories and macronutrients from a text, voice, or photo description of your meal. Estimates can be wrong. Every estimate carries a confidence score so you can judge it; Challenge Mode asks follow-up questions when the input is ambiguous.

AI nutrition output is for personal tracking convenience. Do not rely on it for clinical, medical, or allergen decisions.

12. Warranty & liability

Sando is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bamboo Digital inc. and its suppliers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Sando. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for Pro in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction.

13. Termination

You can stop using Sando and delete your account at any time from in-app Settings or by emailing us. We can suspend or terminate your account if you materially violate these terms, with notice when practical.

On termination, your data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. We'll change the "Last updated" date at the top, and for material changes we'll notify you in-app before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the District of Québec, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local jurisdiction.
